BEFORE
The existing floor lacked ESD protection and proper seamless transitions required for pharmaceutical manufacturing standards.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Diamond grinding was performed to achieve optimal surface profile for pharmaceutical-grade installations. The concrete substrate was prepared to ICRI CSP 3-4 profile, ensuring maximum mechanical bond for the ESD system while maintaining dust-free conditions throughout the process.
MOISTURE & ESD TESTING
Comprehensive moisture testing ensured RH levels below 75% and moisture content under 4%. Substrate electrical resistance was measured to confirm suitability for ESD coating application. All readings documented per ASTM F2170 and ESD S20.20 standards.
ESD CONDUCTIVE PRIMER
A specialized conductive epoxy primer was applied to create the electrical pathway essential for ESD performance. Copper grounding strips were integrated every 6 meters, connecting to the facility's earth grounding system to ensure continuous static dissipation across the entire floor area.
SEAMLESS COVE SKIRTING
100mm radius cove skirting was formed using flexible epoxy resin to eliminate floor-to-wall joints where bacteria could harbor. The seamless transition meets ISO 14644 Class 5 clean room requirements, ensuring easy cleaning and preventing contamination accumulation points.
ESD TOP COAT
The final ESD-safe epoxy top coat was applied in clean room blue/white color scheme. The system achieves 10⁶-10⁹ ohms surface resistance, meeting pharmaceutical manufacturing requirements. Antimicrobial additives ensure zero bacterial growth on the floor surface.
AFTER
The completed clean room floor system meets all ISO 14644 Class 5 requirements with certified ESD protection and seamless, bacteria-resistant surfaces suitable for vaccine production.
